Ladies Season overview
The last year has been full of change for the Ladies, with a previous player stepping up to manage the ladies over the season and a drop of many familiar faces that sadly decided it was time to put their boots up. The girls faced challenges last season with getting together a full squad for many matches with the most recent games having a full squad and bench available, the new recruits from this season have been incredible with their level of passion, respect and teamwork that allowed the Ladies to continue their progression.
After suffering their first loss at home, the Ladies went on an amazing unbeaten run of 6 games, including defeating teams that were 2nd and 3rd in the league. Out of the 22 games played, the Ladies won 11, drew 3, lost 8, leading them to record points being held this season at 36 points since the culmination of the team. Out of those, we held 5 clean sheets which was down to the commendable goalkeeper “Safe Hands” Emz, who has heard much praise from the team as well as the opposition on countess occasions.
The girls scored 37 goals across this season, this was across 9 of the girls contributing to this tally over the season. Much of that owed to our star striker Kerry scoring 17 of them and contributing to 21 goals overall this season.
The defence deserves a commendable shout out for this season, with our new back line of defence featuring some of our younger players including Emily, Jemma and Aimee who have become leaders within the squad.
